The $99 is a minimum fee for patients paying without insurance. It covers a limited, problem-focused emergency exam (ADA code D0140) and the X-ray needed to diagnose the tooth. Treatment is priced separately and quoted to you in writing before any work starts.

Emergency dental services we provide in Osprey
Every service below is handled by our own dentists in our own office. Nothing is sent somewhere else. You come in, we take an X-ray, you hear a plain explanation and see a written price, and more often than not the work gets done during that first appointment.

How a same-day emergency visit works
- Make the call. Ring (941) 207-8431 and tell us what's wrong. On a weekday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, the front desk books you for that same day. After hours, an answering service notes your name, your number and a few words about the problem, then reserves the next business morning's first slot, 8:00 AM, for you.
- We hold you a time. Bring photo ID, plus your insurance card when you have one. Try to arrive a few minutes early so paperwork doesn't eat into your appointment. Walk-ins can't be seen, so please don't skip the call.
- Get treated. Our dentist looks at the tooth, reads the X-ray and tells you what's going on in plain words. You get the treatment price in writing before anything starts. Say yes, and the work begins.
$99 emergency exam and X-ray
For a patient without insurance, the visit begins at $99. That pays for a limited exam of the aching tooth and the X-ray that lets our dentist look at the root and the surrounding bone. Once we know what's wrong, the treatment gets its own written price. Nothing is done until you've seen that number and agreed to it.
Treatment prices aren't posted here, since what a tooth needs only becomes clear once the X-ray is up. Two people with the same toothache can need two very different things. The cost and insurance page spells out how each visit is priced.
Insurance and payment
Most PPO dental insurance plans are accepted here. If you have a PPO plan, the exam and X-ray are billed to your plan. Keep the card handy, or tell the front desk the plan name when you phone.
Paying over time is possible through Sunbit, Cherry and CareCredit financing. Raise it with the front desk before treatment starts rather than after.
Open weekdays at 8am
Doors open Monday through Friday at 8:00 AM and close at 4:00 PM. That early start means a tooth that woke you at 3:00 AM can be looked at before your workday begins. Call at 7:00 AM and the answering service holds you a spot. Call at 8:01 AM and the front desk picks up directly.

Can I show up without calling first?
No. We don't accept walk-ins, and there's a practical reason: an emergency chair only helps if it's actually open when you arrive. Calling (941) 207-8431 first lets us hold that time for you. The call takes a minute or two.
What if my tooth starts hurting on a Saturday night?
Call anyway. A real person answers 24/7. On a weekend or after 4:00 PM, that's an answering service. They note your details and reserve the first slot, 8:00 AM on the next business morning, which after a weekend means Monday. Until then, a pain reliever from the drugstore, used as its label says, plus something cold on the cheek usually takes the edge off.
Do you pull teeth the same day?
Yes, when the exam and X-ray show that's the right treatment and you've agreed to the written price. Our own dentists handle simple and surgical extractions here, wisdom teeth included. If the tooth can be saved with a root canal instead, we'll tell you that too.
Does your staff speak Spanish?
Yes. Our front desk staff speak Spanish whenever the office is open: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Spanish versions of our main pages are on the site as well.
