How far is our Osprey office from Laurel?
About 5 road miles, or 8 to 12 minutes in normal traffic. Laurel sits south of Osprey, spread along Laurel Road between Interstate 75 and the bays, with Dona Bay, Lyons Bay and Roberts Bay on its west side and the Legacy Trail cutting through on its way to Venice. Our office is at 416 S Tamiami Trl Ste F4, Osprey, FL 34229, on US 41 (South Tamiami Trail), north of the Laurel Road intersection.
The trip is straightforward. Laurel Road carries you west to US 41, and US 41 carries you north. On the way you pass Oscar Scherer State Park, about 2 miles before our office, and Blackburn Point Road, the turn for the Casey Key swing bridge, about a mile before it. Parking is on site once you get here.

Laurel is home to the nearest emergency room to our office, Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice on Laurel Road East at I-75. It helps to know what a hospital does for a tooth. Hospitals treat spreading infection and injuries; they generally don't treat the tooth itself. A cracked molar or a lost crown still needs a dentist afterward.
Our office closes at 4:00 PM and stays closed Saturday and Sunday, but (941) 207-8431 is answered at every hour by a real person. We ask every patient to call before driving over, no matter how close they are. The call is how we prepare for you. At the visit, our dentists look at the tooth, take an X-ray and explain what they see. Then the treatment happens, usually right then: extractions, emergency root canals, abscess and infection treatment, repair of a broken or chipped tooth, relief for severe toothaches and replacement of lost fillings and crowns. All of it is done by our dentists in our Osprey office.

Patients paying without insurance pay $99 for the exam and X-ray. Treatment is a separate charge that depends on the diagnosis, and you get it in writing before we start. You can say no.

Getting here from Laurel
From Laurel Road, anywhere along it: head west on Laurel Road until it meets US 41. Turn right, which is north. Stay on US 41 past Oscar Scherer State Park and Blackburn Point Road. Our office is on US 41 in Osprey at 416 S Tamiami Trl Ste F4.
From I-75: take exit 195 for Laurel Road and go west. You'll pass Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice near the interchange and Laurel Nokomis School farther along Laurel Road East, then reach US 41 and turn north.
From the bay side of Laurel: the neighborhoods near Dona Bay and Lyons Bay are already close to US 41. Get to the Trail whichever way is easiest and head north.
Laurel Road can back up in the afternoon, especially in season and when a summer storm rolls through. Give yourself the full 12 minutes.
