How far is our Osprey office from South Sarasota?
About eight road miles. We're at 416 S Tamiami Trl Ste F4, Osprey, FL 34229, on South Tamiami Trail. It's the same US 41 that runs through the South Trail corridor, so from the 34231 and 34239 zip codes the drive is one road, south, the whole way.
From Phillippi Creek, Phillippi Estate Park and the Riverview High School area, plan on fourteen to twenty minutes. From Stickney Point Road, the bridge road to Siesta Key, it's a shorter piece of the same road. From Proctor Road, Ridge Wood Heights and Red Bug Slough Preserve, come west to US 41, then turn south.

An emergency root canal saves a tooth with an infected nerve. Abscess treatment handles the infection and a swollen jaw or face. A broken or chipped tooth is bonded, or crowned when the break is large. A knocked-out tooth has a real chance of going back in when it stays wet and reaches us within the hour. Pain from a wisdom tooth and wisdom tooth extraction are both same-day. If a filling or crown falls out, we replace or re-cement it once the tooth underneath checks out.

Call before you drive. We don't accept walk-ins. Our dentists do the exam and the X-ray, explain what they found, put the treatment price in writing, and then treat the tooth at the same visit when the diagnosis allows. Seasonal residents are welcome, with or without records from home. Bring your insurance card if you have one.
What an emergency dental visit costs for patients from South Sarasota
Without insurance, the emergency exam and X-ray are $99. That fee pays for the diagnosis. Treatment is priced separately, and you see the figure in writing before any work starts. If you have a PPO plan, the exam and X-ray are billed to your plan.

Getting here from South Sarasota
Point the car south on US 41 and stay on it. From the South Trail corridor you pass Stickney Point Road, then Gulf Gate, then Vamo. About a mile before the office you pass Historic Spanish Point, the bayfront campus of Selby Gardens. The office is on US 41 in Osprey, with parking on site. If you reach Blackburn Point Road, the swing bridge road to Casey Key, you've gone about a mile too far.
From the east side of South Sarasota, by way of Interstate 75, take exit 200 and State Road 681, the Venice Connector, west to US 41. It meets the Trail just south of Osprey, so turn north and you're here in a few minutes.

For South Sarasota, Sarasota Memorial Hospital is a bit north on US 41, and Doctors Hospital of Sarasota is on Bee Ridge Road. Hospitals treat spreading infection and injuries; they generally don't treat the tooth itself.

Can you treat an abscess with a swollen face the same day?
Yes. We see abscesses the same day during office hours, take an X-ray, drain the infection where needed, and treat the tooth that caused it. Should the swelling reach your eye or neck, or should breathing or swallowing become difficult, an emergency room comes first; phone us the next morning.
